The Pentagon did establish the FORTRESS America initiative for base self-sufficiency, but the Reel uses AI-generated images to depict U.S. military forces. Fox News Digital reported that Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth launched the FORTRESS America initiative on September 30, 2026, requiring major U.S. military bases to operate independently for 90 days during a major conflict. Spokesperson Sean Parnell confirmed the initiative aims to protect installations from power grid and supply chain disruptions.
