Shumbha-Nishumbha boon story is authentic and Gupt Navratri starts July 15?
Checked 16 Oct 2026 · Updated 17 Oct 2026
The assertion that the demons slain by Durga are allegories for internal psychological flaws like ego and attachment is an unproven interpretation. However, other details in the post check out. Hindu scriptures state that Shumbha and Nishumbha possessed a boon protecting them from being killed by any male. Additionally, Gupt Navratri in 2026 begins on July 15.
