The trick: Cut out of context

It cuts a video so it seems to say something the full version doesn't (known as out-of-context clip).

"डालने का role है। मेरा काम हिंदुस्तान के लोकतंत्र को बचाने का नहीं है।"

How it plays you

It wants you to think: "Rahul Gandhi is indifferent or opposed to saving Indian democracy."

The clip cuts off right before Rahul Gandhi clarifies that he is actively working to protect democracy as a patriotic Indian.

• Misleading clip cut: "मेरा काम हिंदुस्तान के लोकतंत्र को बचाने का नहीं है". The video ends before including Rahul Gandhi's immediate continuation.
• Loaded language: "Abba Dabba Jabba 😂". The on-screen text includes dismissive captions regarding the response.
