What we checked
What the Reel doesn't tell you
- More than one in five jobs in France, or 5.4 million jobs, remain inaccessible to non-EU foreigners, according to the Observatory on Inequalities.
How it tries to persuade you
It wants you to think: "Immigrants are a drain on France's public finances and economy."
A single fiscal ratio does not capture the full picture. Economists point out that immigrants contribute to wealth creation in other ways, such as entrepreneurship and consumption, which are not reflected in direct tax-to-expenditure ratios.
- Selective framing: "seuls 56 % des étrangers extra-européens occupent un emploi". The creator highlights low employment rates among non-EU foreigners.
